Review: Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer

My eyelids used to be really oily after a couple of hours outside. Eye shadows and eyeliner always seem to smudge a lot, making my eye makeup look horrible after a while. However, I have to say that my eye make up has never budge anymore when I use this eye primer before applying any eye make up. I really love this product and I think everyone else need to know how amazing this product is! :)

Product Description:
Proof 10 Eye Primer supplies coverage to eyelids and around the eyes to enhance eye shadow color and integrity for a longer lasting, perfect 10 look.

How to use:
Use fingers to gently apply primer to upper and lower eyelids prior to eye shadow application. Also applicable to eye lines prior to eyeliner application.

Net Weight: 10g / 0.35 oz.

The Eye primer comes in a slim box with its description printed. The description, usage guide, and ingredients list are well written in English and Korean. However, I could not find any manufactured date / expiry date printed anywhere. I personally find it annoying because missing this information means I wouldn't know when this was manufactured and if it was already expired by the time I purchased it. It would have been better if this information was to be printed on the box / the product tube itself. Or maybe it's just mine? Tell me if yours do have a manufacturing date/expiry date printed on.

edit: Turned out the expiry date is printed at the bottom of the box. It should say 6M, meaning it expires 6 months after opening.

It comes with a soft doe foot applicator like how it is usually with lip tints / lip gloss. I find it really helpful because I allows me to control the amount of product to be applied. I usually take the primer and apply a little product on my upper and lower part of the eyes using the applicator and then blend it with my ring fingers. This product is really easy to blend and finishes matte on the skin.

Swatch above show the texture of the eye primer. The texture is very creamy and thick but once it is blended, it quickly sinks onto the skin. It leaves your skin feeling kinda matte and very soft. And oh! It doesn't have any fragrances in it. It somehow reminds me of the POREfessional except this is for the eyes ;)

The first image above is taken under natural light while the second image is taken under artificial light. Sorry if the images are kinda dark. It's been cloudy and raining a lot these days. As you can see, the vibrancy of the eye shadows is optimized with the usage of the Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer. In fact it makes any eye shadow really great and vibrant. Not only it enhance the color of the eye shadow, it really makes your eye make up long lasting.

Usually with this Eye primer, my eye make up will stay like how it is when eye make up is freshly done for about 8-10 hours. My eye make up literally does not budge at all when I use this prior to make up application, even eyeliner. Without this eye primer, my gel eyeliner basically never stay without smudging after 4-5 hours. But with this, I never have any problem with eyeliner smudging / oily eyelids. Ever again. I love love love this eye primer and I will never skin this step.

What I like:
  • Really nice consistency.
  • Matte / soft feeling when this product is applied.
  • It does not have any fragrances.
  • Very easy to blend.
  • Skin tone color / doesn't show on the skin when fully blended.
  • Enhance any eye shadow. 3 timer a lot better.
  • No more oily eye lids.
  • Makes eye make up stays really well.
  • Affordable.
  • Travel friendly
What I dislike:
  • No manufacturing date / expiry date printed.
  • It might be a little unhygenic but you can always apply on the back of your hand first if you are very concern about its hygiene. Not really a problem to me though.
Overall Rating: 5/5
Repurchase? I love this product and will definitely repurchase this again when I am done with it :) If you ask me about this compared to the famous urban decay eye primer. I have never tried the urban decay one, but I will definitely pass on it because this works great, really affordable, and have no reason why I would want to try a similar but more expensive product.

Price: Bought mine for  IDR 55,000 / around $5

  14. I may need to pick this up! I would love to compare it to Urban Decay's Primer Potion and the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. (I have both and they're expensive T___T) This would be so worth it to save like $15 on shadow primer lol. Great review! ^__^
