IBB Makeup Challenge February 2014

Hello everyone! This is my first time joining a makeup challenge. kekekeke~ I had free time this afternoon and finally decided to join and have fun with the challenge. Iseng-iseng berhadiah lah. You should join in this IBB MUC too!

The theme of challenge is "Summer Fairytale". When I read the word fairytale, the first thing that came to my mind was fairies, elves, and witches. The word summer suggests colourful to me. So, I randomly thought of the magical forest elves and decided to go with it for the challenge.

Unfortunately, I have soooooo little eyeshadows, especially the colourful ones. LOL. Whole my life, okay, I might be a little exaggerating but I have been working with natural, nude, subtle, brown, and brown, and brown eye shadows only. I was so excited about the challenge already and then realizing that I don't have the right material to create the look. Then I just searched my whole make up stash and start looking for stuffs I can actually use to create the look that I want. All I found was an old palette from Sariayu with blue and pink eye shadow and a green pencil eyeliner from Silkygirl, which I have had ever since forever.

I am quite happy with the result. I had so much fun doing the look and I think the fact that I had almost no eye shadows except nudes, made the challenge even more challenging. Here is what I came up with, in the end. I know that forest elves are usually associated with green colour but I improved a little bit and worked with more colours because I wanted to emphasize the cheerful impression on the look. I don't know if it is actually clear enough on the pictures but I did a green-to-blue-to-purple gradient on my lower lash line. I also used pink on upper lid because I wanted to give the look a little sophistication and feminism.

Products used to achieve the look:

Face
Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream
Skinfood Peach Sake Pore BB Cream
Maybelline Clear Smooth Minerals Healthy Natural Concealer Medium Sand

Eyes
Sariayu Exotic Indonesia Moistpome Eye Shadow Denting Kecapi (Phew, what a name)
Sariayu Senandung Rimba Sumatra Lip Eye Kit
Silkygirl Funky Eyelights Pencil 09 Lime GreenTaiwan False Lashes #710

Eyebrow
H&M Nudes eyeshadow trio

Cheeks
Bobbi Brown Blush Pretty Pink 41

Lips
Clinique Long Last Glosswear #14 Cabana Crush

That's it! What do you think?
Did I do a good job to be a forest elf? Not even sure myself.
To be honest, this was the first time I have ever done a makeup this bold.
*cross my fingers* Please wish me luck!
