Review: Etude House Look at My Eyes Jewel BR401 Ethnic Bronze Bangle

If you have been reading my blog, I have been mentioning this particular eye shadow a few times on FOTD blog posts. I've been looking for the cheaper alternative of Chopper from Urban Decay 2 Naked Palette ever since it existed, just because it is super pretty! Probably even the only thing I think Naked Palette 2 is worth buying after purchasing the original Naked Palette.

Then I found Etude House Look at My Eyes Jewel BR401 and I thought it's pretty similar, the colour is pretty, and it's cheap! So, why not? If you would like to know if this eye shadow was worth purchasing then keep reading!

Etude House Look at My Eyes Jewel BR401 is a glittery rose gold eye shadow. The colour looks super pretty on the pan, am I right? It looks pretty much the same when applied. Application is smooth and the colour is quite pigmented. It contains 2g of product but for the price of $5/IDR50,000 I think this is a pretty great deal.

Now, is it similar to Chopper from Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette? Well, I don't have the Naked 2 Palette but looking from images and reviews from other beauty bloggers, I don't think this could be considered as a dupe despite its similar appearance. It is just different. Etude House Look at My Eyes Jewel BR401 is kinda more glittery and far less pigmented. But I still loveeeeee it because the it is just so pretty, don't you agree? Here are some swatches. The top swatch is when it is freshly applied and below is when it is blended but of course you can always make it look more pigmented by applying more.

Also, I think that this eye shadow has a serious eye shadow fallout problem. Applying with brushes just doesn't work for me. Even though I've used primer beforehand, it still doesn't solve the fallout problem. However, I find that applying with finger has minimized this problem. So far I have no problem with it as applying with finger also gives me more control and better application.

I am still loving it despite the fact that it is different from what I expected at first. I use it very often, almost every time I go out, just as an additional subtle spark to the center of my lids. Oh! One thing I hate from this eye shadow is the packaging. The lid gets loose pretty fast so I have to be careful every time I grabbed it. However, it doesn't get opened even though I stored it in my makeup bag and bring it everywhere with me. The loose lid is a disappointment but nothing bad that could ruin the eye shadow ever happened, so I am still pretty much fine with it. I'm just not a fan of the packaging.

So, what do you think? Do you happen to know any similar eye shadow shade like this?

  1. Rose gold is such a popular colour these days and I think it's so pretty!
I've never tried Etude House eyeshadows before but the swatches remind me of a less shimmery version of the yellow gold colour in the Dolly Wink eyeshadow quad 01! Its kind of dissapointing that theres a lot of fall out and it looks kind of sheer too!
    Thanks for reviewing this ^o^

btw i just searched up the colour chopper and its so pretty omg haha!

  9. I don't even know what Chopper looks like but when I saw the swatch for this shade I was like 'FORGET ABOUT CHOPPER THIS IS GORGEOUS *-*"
It does look very glittery when swatched out though, but yeah, applying with fingers does reduces fallout and keeps pretty good pigmentation compared to brushes :3
