Purple lips has been quite a trend for the past few months. I was soooooo eager to try purple-ish lippies and so I finally decided to try this limited edition Fresh Cherry Tint PP501 Cherry Lavender from Etude House because I loved #3 Cherry Peach shade so much (Read my review on it here if you haven't). Of course the main reason is because I've seen so many pretty Korean actresses who look hella amazing with purple lips.
I believe that this color, together with Coral OR202, was released to celebrate their 5th anniversary, thus the playful and colorful packaging. Super cute, eh? I totally love the design of the box packaging, although I would prefer the bottle design to be somewhat different than the original ones :p Not that I have any problem with it.
I love how this tint comes with a doe-foot applicator. It always makes lip product application a lot better and easier I think. The color payoff is really nice, super pigmented while not being too bright and scary or too sheer. I personally think that it is such a nice shade to play around to give you a fresh and playful look.
One thing that I really like from Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint is how it feels super moisturizing, stays really well on the lips and does not transfer like most lip products do. The color looks really pretty when swatched. Probably a little disappointment for me was that the color does not look as lilac/purple on my lips in real life. It does look similar to the swatch below when it is first applied on the lips, but after sometime, I feel that it gradually turned darker. It turned out to be a little darker and more like bright pink with purple undertones. Just a tad bit different from how it looks like under the swatch below and what I expected when I first bought this lip product.
I personally think that using it make me a look more mature. Not a bad point if you're looking for a lip product to make you look more mature and professional while giving a fresh bright feeling to your overall makeup look. In my opinion, it looks a lot better when paired with nude or more natural eye makeup to balance out the powerful lips. I do love the shade and consistency, but probably not for an everyday look. If you are into purple lippies or would like to try purple lip shade, then I suggest you to try it because Fresh Cherry Tint series from Etude House is one of the best korean lip products I have ever tried ;)
