Do you love nail art? I love nail art! but it is not that easy to it by yourself, don't you agree? Today I want to share with you my experience using Konad Stamping Nail Art Tool Kit, which will help you do your own nail art, easily at home.
Stamping Nail Art Tool was developed by KONAD in 2002 for the first time in the industry. There are basically endless possibilities of nail art you can do with these stamping tool. You can choose whatever you like according to your own preferences, mood, and personality. I was quite excited when I have the chance to try this, Thank you BNT for the opportunity.
I received 2 items, the Stamping nail art set which consist of two 5ml Konad special nail polish ( metalic dark blue/purple and white), a top coat to seal off your nail art, a small round image plate, scraper, and the stamper; as well as a square image plate 01 so I have a lot more varieties and style to try.
Here is a little instruction diagram on how to do-it-yourself nail art:
01. Apply base coat or regular polish to nail
02. Apply KONAD special nail polish to desired image within a plate. You can easily change this and use your regular nail polish as long as they are highly pigmented so that the color transfers well onto the stamper and then your nail.
03. Make the scraper leaned over 45 degrees and scrape excessive polish off QUICKLY and strongly.
04. QUICKLY press the stamper onto the plate to pick up the design.
05. Stamp the image onto your nail with a gentle rolling motion or just press down and lift up immediately.
06. For lasting wear, apply top coat slightly and quickly.
This is the square image plate that I got. There are so many pretty design. My favourite from this one is the Triangles (2nd row, 2nd image), Alphabets (2nd row, 3rd image), Flowery (3rd row, 1st image), as well as the thick stripes (4th row, last image).
Seriously, I have to be honest. Although it seems like everything is so easy. It wasn't easy for me when I first tried it. I even asked the other BNT girls for advices but nothing seems to work. I had to do it for more than 10 times before I get it to work.
Joanne was also struggling when she first tried it but she eventually managed to do it after Kim and Doris told that everything needs to be done quickly. Like, really quick and fast. I definitely did it fast and as quickly as I could but it doesn't seem to work. I was frustrated. I basically tried all the image from the square image plate, because apparently the girls said it is much easier to work with. Still, nothing worked. You should have seen how messy my table was that day.
And then finally! I gave it one last try with the Alphabet design and it worked! After a few nails, I finally know what was wrong with my method and why it doesn't work after countless tries. It came out pretty okay, right? It was not that pretty because I gave up putting base colour on my nails after a few times of failure but I quite like it with my nails showing underneath like that.
For nail art beginners out there who would like to try or those who have yet to be able to use a stamping nail art tool, here are a few tips from me:
// Make sure to not put too much nail polish on your image plate. I was actually kinda worried that there wouldn't be enough nail polish to cover the whole design so I always try to put as much as I could. Turned out this was one of the problem of why I couldn't transfer the design nicely onto the stamper and my nail. Remember less is more.
// I feel that it is a little easier if you apply the nail polish at the edge of the design or even out of the area to make sure when you scrape the nail polish, all of the design are covered with nail polish.
// Just do not hesitate, don't overthink it. Just do it! The more you are hesitant, the more likely you will fail.
// When you press your stamper against the image plate filled with nail polish, do not put on too much pressure. It will transfer just fine. This was also one of the reasons of why it didn't work out the first few times I try this Konad tool. Just make sure you press it lightly and quickly lift it up again to pick up the design, there is no need to put on so much pressure.
// Apply your top coat very quickly or else the nail art design will smudge, and it would not look pretty. I even smudged the design on a few of my fingers.
Hope that somehow helps if you are wondering why you still cannot figure out why it doesn't work for you. Overall, I think the idea of this stamping nail art tool is really brilliant. It is a lot easier than having to paint everything on your own, especially when nail art usually only look good on one hand (I am terrible in painting with my left hand). With this, you do not have to worry that it would not look good on your other hand. Look at the picture above, it was my right hand and it is still really pretty!

Yes you finally did it! It turned out great Bella! I envy your nails by the way. I can't stand having long nails and I had to grow my nails longer than I usually do when I did the review. Haha
