Too Cool For School Artclass by Rodin

To be honest, I am not a contour kind-of-girl, simply because most bronzer I tried before are either too dark or the colors are just way off. I am always hesitant to do shading works on my face as they don't always turn out as natural like how I would like them to be. I never figure out how to do it properly. So, most of time I would just leave this step out from my makeup routine.

I am completely aware that I have huge and roundish face with square jaw that needs proper shading for it to look at least decent but I just never bother with it. Well, I have been trying to learn to contour a lot lately and I am so glad that I found Too Cool For School Artclass by Rodin.

The packaging is to die for! I am a sucker for anything with great design and most products from Too Cool For School are extremely awesome, including this one. It feels really sturdy and I definitely think these little details make a great first impression.

This contour palette comes in three different shades that can be used individually or mixed together. I love how it has warm undertones that is not too much. It works really well on my skintone. It is not too light and not too dark, perfect for natural contouring. The color payoff is quite great, so light swirling strokes on the pan are all you need.

I find it to be a lot easier to work with something that is not too pigmented for contouring because it is simpler to work slowly and add on more products if needed rather than trying to blend darker and more pigmented color. That's why I think the shades are great for contouring beginners, like me.

Although the first shade is obviously too light to show on my skintone, it works well when mixed with the others to bring down the color intensity. I am still have not yet found the perfect way to contour my face but I have been loving this palette for my hairline, on my forehead as well as on my hair parting area.

A little tip for you with bald or sparse areas on your hair is to use contour palette like this one or any matte brown/grey eyeshadow and a dense eyeshadow brush and blend onto those sparse areas, as well as near the hairline to create illusion of fuller hair crown.

In conclusion, I love it! Definitely something I would be grabbing a lot in the future, especially because I am still on trial to create that natural contouring on my face.

  1. Exactly how I felt about contouring ^^
I think I'm gonna pick this one just for the sake of learning how to contour, even though I could get away without it. Also, my skin tone is quite fair, so sheer is definitely the best option.
    Thanks for the post

  6. Yep. I prefer sheer contour too because I have no idea what I am doing yet. And it's best to just add little by little rather than having too much at once.
    Thank you for reading! :D
