Catalina Geo Color Capsule Makeup Base in Green

Recently, I have been trying a few green makeup base, including this one from Catalina Geo. Please don't laugh at me, but I actually thought that green bases could help to tackle the pinkiness in BB creams.

I have extremely yellow undertones so I always hate it when BB creams come with a pink undertones. So, I thought since green is supposed to cover redness, it should help to neutralize pinkiness too from BB cream. Am I making any sense? Oh well, read on if you are curious if it actually help me or not.

Truthfully speaking, I am not a makeup base person. I have never tried one that actually helps my foundation application easier or better and I find that makeup base is not a necessity for me. Not so sure if it's because I just haven't found the right one for my skin, or I am just too blind to see what their purposes are. I tried a few products I actually like that help to hide my pores and make my skin a lot smoother, but then even without them, I don't see any drastic difference, so I usually just don't bother to use one.

I personally think that green bases are not for me, after a few times trying. Not only because I don't have much redness to cover, but also because I have a super olive skin. Not just neutral olive, but my skin is green, as in really yellow green. Using green bases makes me turn even greener no matter what undertones my foundation / BB cream is, which is definitely not a good thing. So that also applies to this one.

I don't see myself using this to go out, ever. That's definitely too bad, because Catalina Geo Color Capsule Makeup Base in Green actually has a really really nice texture to it. I find it to be extremely moisturizing, definitely amazing to prevent cakey finish with foundation of drier texture. Also, it gives a really nice brightening effect to the skin. I do think that this one would be an amazing product to try if you have redness to cover and if you would like something a little moisturizing.

Do you have any favorite makeup base?
Tell me what is it for: brightening, covering pores, longer lasting foundation, mattify, or other function?
