April Skin Review Part 1 - Magic Snow Cushion White & Black

April Skin Review Magic Snow Cushion White & Black

Back again with another review, and this time it's the review of April Skin's products - Magic Snow Cushion (both black and white), as well as Magic Honey Tint and Magic Oil Tint. Since It's quite long, I decided to divide this into 2 parts.

You can read more about the Lip Tints on the second part here. For now, let's focus on the two cushion foundation :)

White = Moisture //  Black = Coverage

The main difference between white and black is basically the finish, coverage level, and moisture content. White is targeted for dry skin with 60% water-based serum, while Black is for Oily & Combination Skin with silkier finish and higher coverage.

Both of the cushions come in 3 shades: #21 Light Beige, #22 Pink Beige, #23 Natural Beige. I got mine in the shade #21 for the white snow cushion and shade #22 for the black snow cushion. Down below you can see the difference between the two.

Shade 21 is very pale and while both of them have pink beige undertone, Shade 21 is more neutral than the pinkish 22. It might not be a concern for most people since a lot of BB creams do have pinkish undertone, but for me it is a minus point since I have extremely yellow skin. I prefer #21 a lot more than the #22 for this reason, even though it is kinda too light for my skin.

FINISH

Magic Snow Cushion White has a pretty glowy finish, perfect if you have dry skin or love the Korean dewy look. Magic Snow Cushion Black on the other hand, gives a subtle inner glow effect on the skin and provides more coverage for troubled skin. I honestly can't decide which of the two is better. I love them both equally. I love the fact that they are moisturizing on the skin and does not accentuate dry patches.

Since White is a lot more moisturizing, it is not as long lasting as the Black version. You skin gets oily quicker with the Magic Snow Cushion White on. Black cushion gives a more powdery finish which absorbs excess oil on the skin. You can see the different finish of the two on my skin down below.

COVERAGE TEST

Coverage wise, I think both are amazing. I didn't pat on a lot of layer for the swatches above, it was only a few light taps and it'll be all you need. You might need a little bit more product with the Magic Snow Cushion White to fully cover imperfections on the skin. If coverage is your main concern, then I suggest to go with the Black version.

I even ditched my concealer when I had these on, like it was no longer needed. It brightens my whole complexion, even dark circles, and covers all imperfections. Here's a picture to give you a clearer idea.

I applied Magic Snow Cushion White lightly only on half of my face, nothing else. Here are more selfies with better focus so you can see the flawless and dewy finish it gives. I didn't use any concealer, just a cushion primer beforehand for a smoother skin finish. What do you think?
