The New YSL Vinyl Cream Lip Stains

YSL just launched a new lip product not too long ago, the YSL Vinyl Cream Lip Stain. No doubt that lip stain is still my favorite type of lip product out there and the fact that a new glossy stain is out, I was dying to get my hands on it!

The formula is kinda similar to a liquid lipstick, so it's creamy and liquidy -and yes it still makes my hair stuck to the lips, this situation is apparently inevitable- but not sticky like a lip gloss. It gives the lips a nice sheer glossy finish and gives ++ volume without it being too heavy. I don't know about you, but for me, a glossy lip product is okay if it does not make my lips glued together, as long as I can still talk and move my mouth freely, I'm okay!

The packaging is pretty. It's undeniable, okay? I am willing to carry this around all day in my purse and flash this around -thinking hey look at this gorgeous piece of lip stain- even though I probably wouldn't be using it.

The wand! I am in a love and hate situation. It's great on my thin lips as it is super easy to draw precise line, so applying this all over my lips is quite easy and I can easily fill in my lips neatly. But it's also a little too flat, sharp and long that it doesn't take enough product to cover my entire lips so double dip is needed to give the right amount of product to the lips for that 'omph' fuller-lips effect.

Can we talk about the color now? I got mine in 401 Rouge Vinyle and 407 Carmin Session. 401 is a pretty deep pinkish red color and 407 is just beyond amazing! It's a warm pinkish brown that is looking great on my warm skin. It's nude and very subtle but adds colour and life to my lips.

The color is buildable however, putting on thin layer would create a kinda uneven application, unless it's in korean gradient style, where you only apply the stain in the inner part of the lips. I personally like it better with thick layers on a full lips look. The YSL Vinyl Cream Lip Stains are not that long lasting as its '10-hour wear' claim. The gloss does disappear after a light meal or drink, but it leaves a slight stain on the lips which pretty much lasted around 3-4 hours.

The stain left after removing most of the lip cream

I also did a little video tutorial to show 2 ways to rock two-toned lips using these lip stains.

Overall, I pretty much enjoy 407 Carmin Session on a daily basis. It's so easy to use and it's a color that goes well with anything. What do you think?
